Twin Turbo or Single Turbo?

im lookin at getting a supra and i want to upgrade the turbo. i was wandering wat the performance difference is between a single turbo and twin turbo.

Tradtionally speaking, a larger single turbo has more total output potential, but takes longer to spool up. Twins tend to spool quicker if you have two smaller ones, but it doesn't take long before they start to lose efficiency.

That said, however, a properly sized single turbo (compressor wheel sizing, etc) can still provide for some good lag-to-power ratio.

Now here's the other kicker: What kind of Supra are you looking at? MKIV? What engine? 7M-GTE? 2JZ-GTE? The engine's current state of tune will also matter; depending on what you've got, you may have to do some supporting mods first, the extent of these mods will vary on how much power you're looking for, or will be looking for down the road.

That would be a 4th gen. Single turbos are also less than half the price even for the big name kits. Twins typically start from HKS in the 6-8k neighborhood.
