2ZZ + nitrous..

Im curious to know how well these two things work in conjuction with each other, granted the car has the supporting mods...intake,exhaust,header, colder plugs etc etc etc. How well do these motors take too nitrous with the high compression ratio? Whats your current setup and times? Just curious thanks for the space.

Personally, I am a fan of building power all-naturally aspirated. This way I can get 200K out of the car.

As for 2ZZ handling nitrous, you can do 50 shot quite safely (although you have to get supervision of a training technician). With 50 shot, you can dip very low in the 14s or possibly high 13s. With a very lofty compression, 75 nitrous will be disastrous with stock internals.

thanks

for the quick reply, Are the internals in these motors cast? hyperuetic? forged? Any other "specific" facts i should now about the 2zz besides the 11:5 compression ratio?

PS(although you have to get supervision of a training technician) why is this?

I am quite sure 2ZZ is mostly cast and almost all of it is aluminum. You can get high compression forged pistons as part of the stroker kit from JDM TRD. It raises the compression ratio to 13:0:1 and increases discplacement to 2.0 liter and an advertised 220 HP at the crank. You would not even need nitrous in this case. Throw some intake/exhaust etc. and you can add another 20 - 25 HP on the 2ZZ.

p.s. You need to get supervision on how to handle it. From what I heard there are some funky things you need to such as not spray in first gear and then shift at certain rpms at the most etc.
