gearbox question

hey folks...I have a 4A-GE 20V S/T transplanted into a '93 AE101 Corolla, however, the tranny is the stock AE101 4spd A/T from the 4A-F that was there before (previous owner had it rebuilt and kept it in the install) and it's beginning to show the early signs of failure...

NOW, I have here a 5fwd LSD gearbox from a Starlet (4E-FTE) and I'm wondering if it will mate with the 20V for my automatic-manual conversion project

I've been told that the 4E-FTE g/box and the 4A-GE g/box are exactly the same except for the bell housings (not sure how true that is) but on comparison to a 4A-FE g/box, it would seem that they'd work...except say for mounting the starter to the rear of the engine instead of in front, which is no hassle

now since I already have a 4A-F tranny on the 20V, am I safe in assuming the 4E-FTE g/box will bolt up to my 20V?

Gearboxes same size, bellhousing is not. so just take the gear box of the 4e and put it on to your bellhousing to match it to your engine
