I finally got the car running, since I had some time to do it.
And I put the turbo in it, I looked it up, it is a t2 series turbo from a dodge charger shelby, I got it cheap and new.
I made up the 2.5" exhaust and 3 " intercooler tubing, along with a skyline sized intercooler (well, bigger actually, it was what fit perfectly) and have the BOV just before the intake.
I ran the 440cc injectors like was recommended and the car runs great, but it is pouring the gas through the engine. It is a little smokey when idling and I am running 30lbs pressure on my aeromotive system (I had it from another car). I was running 35-40 lbs, but it ran smoother when I dropped it.
The questions are:
- Should I use smaller injectors? What part numbers?
- Can I get an injector controller to reduce the amount of fuel it is dumping in at idle?
- What electronics would you recommend? i.e, the air fuel controller (might solve question 2?)
- I have a boost gauge, and the exhaust temp gauge, along with fuel pressure, what numbers should I see in the exhaust temp? (I put an aftermarket cat in too)
I am impressed overall, it sounds very much like my skyline. Way different than stock.
I also took out the balance shafts, and things seem to be running fine.
I will post pics a little later, I am in the middle of a move and do not have my own computer hooked up, so I will be able to respond in a few days.
I would go to 315cc or stock injectors since your ecu knows how to run them. Get a piggyback or injector controler and hook up extra injectors somewhere along the intake, either in the manifold or before the TB. That way you engine knows how to run the stock injectors under light load but the controller tells the extra injectors to fire under throttle and boost conditions.

when i was turbo'd, I made my emanage do ( i cant remember if it was 40 or 60%) less injector duty cycle at idle. thats how I compansated for my large injectors. You can just run 315's but people may slap you for that. See if you cna find 360's or something
I purchased the black top injectors, and had to shave off the nylon clip guides so the harness would clip on right. What do the smaller injectors look like? ie. color and part numbers?
ttercel thanks for the link.
One problem, hopefully someone knows... I pulled green injectors out of my 5sfe and they were stock, were they 295cc? It says 5sfe run the yellow injectors at 213cc
Also, I have the black injectors in my car now at 430cc, but it says resistance is 2.9ohms and it says the green ones are 13.8, I guess I should put in the higher resistance injectors. I am not sure who the hell told me to go with the black injectors in the first place. It looks like I should put in the green ones again.
Anyways, confirmation from someone?
edit: ok, now I went back to the smaller injectors, they are green, so the chart says they are 295cc, supposedly from a 3sge, but are stock in my 5sfe, now the car runs like crap. It ran better with the lower resistance injectors.
Also, I get the O/D light flahing constantly (I swapped from auto to manual and wired the thing to think it is in neutral) Is this supposed to mean something?
Anyways, the car doesn't idle but will run fine at 2k and runs ok under boost.
Is there any possibility that the flow from the -6 lines are causing the injectors to be too turbulent inside to work? I am running about 40lbs pressure in the line, as spec'd.
Any suggestions, specially the o/d flashing, (1 flash, pause, 1 flash, pause, etc...) I pulled the battery, but it did it again.
Should I use the s-afc2 or the blue greddy e-manage with the map sensor?
I know both work, right, which is easier to use? and which is actaully better?
I hooked up the e-manage and got the car running. I am waiting for a new usb cable.
The one that comes with it has a goofy printer connection on it that doesn't hook up to anything. A USB to USB should run right, (I can't tell from teh web page)
The harness is the T-1 Harness in the Camry, just in case anyone wants to know.
I set the switches to 2-4-2. I sure hope this is right, since I don't see any reference to this engine anywhere. If you run something else, let me know.
Also, I run the mr2 map, but the e-manage I have has its own map sensor.
Greddy doesn't specify what the difference is, or if the emanage uses its own map sensor instead of the mr2 one.
Also, the latest version of emanage software has problems, but I cannot tell if it is working properly (or exactly as it should).
The emanage also seems to take a reading from the wideband air fuel sensor, but again, the site does not tell you if it does anything with it, or what it is supposed to do anyways.
If it says that it automatically adjusts the fuel to stay within readings, that would be nice.
Also. I am running the 440cc injectors instead of the 295cc that were in the car.
The resistance rating is 10 ohms less than the factory ones. The car actually fires up and idles fine, with the adjustment setting at -20, but once I get the proper usb cable then I can fine tune it.
Does anyone know for sure what happens if you run lower impedance injectors?
What is it going to do?
Also, the low impedance injectors run hotter because they have more current going through them, same thing with the ECU.
SO, I have to run 10 ohm resistors.
Now, I have to figure out where to place the resistors.
I guess I can put them in front of the injectors, and have the wiring behind the engine. I have seen injector resistor boxes that are heat sinked. I don't know if I am going to be doing the same thing or not. Since the injectors are only controlled by 2 signals from the ECU, they must match up somewhere to control 2 injectors each signal. (Batch injection).
