Tuneing advice for a modified 5SFE

I installed a motor that the builder boosted the compression just a notch and installed Japanese perf cams (nothing avail in the states). The Cam profile is a bit flat untill about 3000 RPM but would come on pretty stong around there. The performance is way off right now and I'm thinking my Cat is clogged. The vehicle has California emissions. and I can readily detect pre-ignition if the eng timing is optimized. Is there a good tuner that I can send this computer to, or any other suggestions?

Suggestions on emissions modifications?

I am installing a header, Perf Cat and exhaust and I know this will only worsen the tuning aspect.

Might post to the Camry forum where you would get more coverage. Are you sure it is pre-ignition and not detonation?

Colder plugs may help or a richer mixture. Something could be igniting the mixture early like a valve not sealing, sharp edges on a head gasket, etc.

Thought there were aftermarket add-on ECU’s and complete replacements that could allow you to do your own tuning.
