fuel pump/sending unit

i think my camry's trying to tell me something

man i've been to the scrap yard a lot lately,

this is a pretty straight fwd job, but just thought i'd ask if there's anything special? looking in my haynes manual i'm thinking that taking out the seat is going to be the hardest part

What exactly are you asking...if there's any surprises taking out the fuel sending unit assembly? If so, it is really simple. I just did this on a gen 3...Take the back seat out by grapping it underneath and lifting up rather sharply to get it out of the mounts. Take the cover plate off with a screw driver. Disconnect the electrical connector, fuel supply and the return lines. Then using a nut driver, remove the bolts that hold the assembly to the tank.

If you're just replacing stock parts, reassemble and reinstall. When I pulled mine, I installed an aftermarket pump (Walbro high flow) that required a little custom work.

The Walbro was about $100...but the only reason I bought the aftermarket one was to match my turbo. Generally speaking, I don't think it'll help a normally aspirated to go to a higher flowing pump.

taking out the seats has got to be the easiest part man

but i never tried removing the fp so i cant say anything with regards to that.
