Question Girlfriend's Camry missing at idle

Hi folks, my first time post. Pardon my intrusion....

I replaced the spark plugs, the miss is getting worse. Soon the car won't be running at all. My feeling is it is the map sensor or egr valve, but I have no way of knowing. I disconnected from vacuum what I THINK is the map sensor, located at the top right hand corner of the intake manifold (1992 DOHC 16V) and the car tried to die, plugged the line for a sec, reconnected, and the idle roughness disappeared. I have NO engine light coming on at all, but the car is getting where it will not idle. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve
