Loose Steering wheel

Hello, I am new to this site and have a couple of questions. I have a friend with a 2000 corolla. It feels as though the steering wheel nut is loose. I have not removed a steering wheel with airbag on a toyota. On honda's there is a connector under the dash that you unplug to disable the airbag before removing the steering wheel is there a similar plug on toyota and if so cold you indicate where it is located? If not please post instructions to remove the airbag so that the steering wheel nut can be tightened. I don't think it is safe to drive with this condition.

Also the car has a lot of noise coming from the engine and it sounds to me to be an exhaust leak from the manifold or downpipe. Is there a gasket that fails frequently on these cars? I have not had a chance to check out the car when it was cold to try and find the leak.

Thanks for any help you can provide with these problems.

Thanks,

Darrell

Well the airbag circuitry have capacitors of their own, so you need to wait for some time after disconnecting the battery for them to drain out. Remember to take caution removing the bag, never face the bag opening just incase something happens, and static electricity can set it off. Its like carrying a bomb
