Nothing. They dont have to be equal length. No performance difference. Having one shorter runner and one longer is better than having two long runners... capice?
Maxima owners convert there stock Y-pipes to sort of F-pipes with the Budget Exhaust aftermarket pipe they have. Just look:
Just as long as you don't run open pipes downstream of the header there is no problem.

and arnt mandrel bends pricey?????
Thats nonsense. You can buy pre-bent mandrel pipes and just a shop to weld it together. Hell, Budget exhaust offers their Maxima y-pipes as a "weld-your-own" kit if you wanna save money. Thats all it is. There is no excuse for crush bent pipes, unless you like being ghetto-fabulous.
does any one have custom y/f pipes on their camrys here????
ive heard about those maxima ones and i like the numbers they produce(average of 20+ hp and TQ across the band right???) ... can i expect these numbers as well????

never dyno'd with it... cause I had an exhaust leak while it was on, and I still had a Check engine light at the time.
