89 cam efi

i have an 89 cam with the 3sfe inline 4 motor in it i was wonderin if it had MPI (multi port injection, where all injectors are spraying all the time) or SFI (sequential fuel injection, where injectors only fire when they need to) i know most chevy motors didnt go to sfi till 96 but chevy sux thats why im building up my camery instead of my s10, also does any body know how many volts the injectors can handle? i ask because right now my camery is getting no fuel, i know it is getting fuel to the injectors becuase i pulled off the fuel rail and turned on my inline fuel pump and fuel squirted out of the holes, so the injectors arent spraying, i am going to get new relays and check if the relays are getting power and all that but if that doesnt work i am going to put a custom stand alone MPI system on it, cheap and easy, this is just going to be a weekend warrior running methane so im not really worried about driveablity or reliability issures, i am just worried about timing being turned back or whatever the ecu does when it sees something wrong, if this is going to be a problem what stand alone type ignigtion systems could i get? msd?

i have read up a bit on the Megasquirt system and it sounds nice but to much work and time for what i am going to be doing, if i ran 5.5 volts to all four injectors would i have a problem with them melting or shorting and starting a fire of ne sort? i plan on just letting the injectors run constantly, running methane, i know it will idle like crap but all i really care about is between 3-5 or 6k rpms, i plan on putting a temp sensor on the head and in the exhaust and tunning it with an adjustable fuel pressure relulator
what problems do u think i will run into and how bad will the ecu jumping timing effect my performance?
