Suspension slop and bushings

When I close the doors on my 96 Camry, the car wiggles back and forth sideways a little. I'm pretty sure that when I get my new wheels and tires, some of the wiggling will stop, but do the stock rubber bushings in the suspension also contribue to that wiggle, or is that sideways motion built into the suspension itself?

Also, I read the post about Delrin bushing, and the hardness of those bushing seem pretty hardcore. Can you buy polyurethane bushings of different hardness, and if I were to go and change out all the rubber bushings for poly bushings, how many pieces would have to be changed?

I'm also pretty sure that you cannot go and buy poly bushings for a Gen3 Camry to replace the stock ones (except for the rear sway bar bushings) so how would I go about getting custom ones made? Do i go and buy a block of polyurethane and have a shop machine the bushings out of that?

ur car wiggles when u close the doors not because of the bushings, but because of the softness of the sidewalls on ur tires.
first of all, they are tall ass profile, so that doesnt help any.

my car had bad rear bushings and it didnt wiggle side to side when i closed the door when i had r compound tires on.

but when i had my winters on, it'd wiggle side to side. it's just sidewall flex.

Alright, that's what I figured about the side to side motion.

Then what is the point of having harder bushings installed to replace the rubber OEM ones (if they are not damaged or degraded)?

polyurethane bushings give less flex and thus increase the handling response of the vehicle. also changes in toe/camber under hard cornering forces are reduced...so the entire car will feel more precise

Forgot to add the part about incresed road noise and the fact that polyurathane has a bad habit of cracking with our climate. If you liked your ride when it was new just get OEM ones.

How do I tell if my bushings are going bad? I originally posed the question about the bushing because I thought that they were giving some unwanted sideways motion, but it looks like it's just my tires that are causing the wiggle.

u'll feel it when bushings are worn.
my car wiggled while turning when the rear bushings were gone on the wheel spindle...

Question: Given a raw block of polyurethane, could you machine your own bushings?

I have a question guys. I can move my front wheels on my gen2 Camry back and forth, like if I am kneeling next to my wheels I can go like this <- and -> a little bit. I know that's not right and it feels like my engine mounts are bad again when I change gears and accelerate but they are fine, and polyurethane filled. Anyone have a clue?

You mean your wheel (not spin) wiggles?

Sounds like your hub/bearing is gone.

It is a bit odd, the whole assembly has a bit of play in it. The wheel dosent feel loose but I can manually roll it back and forth an inch or 2 but the car stays still. Like I said, it feels like my mounts are gone because the whole car bounces forward a bit when I shift and accelerate hard. I think it may have to do with whatever bushings the whole spindle assembly and everything are attached to.
