what is the difference between just rebuilding the head and rebuild the whole motor?

rebuilding the head=redoing the head gasket, valve seals, cam seals, valve cover gasket etc...just any sort of gasket up there.


also possibly can entail new valve springs, new cams, new valves, new valve guides etc.

rebuidling the whole engine is what is stated above as well as rehoning the cylinder walls, new pistons and rings, new journals... it fixes compression if there is any compression problem in the block

The head and motor are two seperate pieces, that do very different/seperate jobs. Rebuilding both is ideal, but can get costly, very costly if you purchase all new parts.

you could run a turbo now but depending how worn your engine is now you could ruin the motor the first time you floor the gas.

but to be safe if you put a turbo on your motor you would probably be safe running 5-7 psi of boost.
