Street Racing Problems??

i read a lot of threads about you guys in toronto about the cops being bitches about street racing or even track racing (traps outside the track and such) but ive NEVER seen an illegal street race in my life, and i live around boston massachusetts. hell ive never even heard of people takign their cars to the track, or people at my school talking about street racing. is it really really common to see races in canada?

do you drive around much on deserted roads in the wee hours of the night...

the point is to make it in a remote place, less people stumble upon it

Well that depends. I havent seen a race where the starting line is actually painted on the ground. Its mostly stoplight to stoplight.
Although in russia, those guys really made it organized and have numbers for each car and racing tables! Each participant pays a fee to enter, then the Fastest car of the night gets that pot of money. Its really alot more advanced and better organized than in most places. Heck its even alot more organized than the races you see on fast and the furious and alike.
PLUS, over in europe they will try to let you race another car that is equal to the car that you drive. Oh and civics arent that popular in those races

i dont know about canada but here in New Jersey and New York street races are common. i've gone rto plenty races. not so much where the finish line in lainted off but there usually is a starter inbetween the cars to drop the flag ro so go or whatever. usually the finish line is painted or marked somehow so we can see who finishes. one of the best times i've had was when i went to some races in NY. the amount of cars and kinds of cars that came out was crazy. it was a great time and then when the cops came everyone ran to there cars and scrambled to get out, hearing all the exhausts and schreeching tires was great. i dont know how boston is though. i used to go there when was younger so i have no clue about the racing. how old are you anyway?are you in highschool or what? i think most people that drive have at least heard about racing and i'm sure some in your school have raced.

take it to the track if you wonna race cause it's not worth the risk or street racing besides once you race on a track you'll never wonna go back to street racing

There's a huge parking lot next to a Coffee Shop in Toronto where all the car lovers meet on Thursdays and Fridays (Mostly, but they gather every day of the week during the summer) I think the parking lot takes about 100 or so cars and sometimes there's no where to park..

Then some groups leave together and go race in certain spots in Toronto... Unfortunetly even if you're cought watching races more than once, you get a notice from the police that your insurance company has been notified and that if you are seen at another race you will most likey be charged or your insurance company will drop you..

What we do is we take my friend's 86 Honda Civic GL and go watch because even if we drive by the cop and speed he won't pull us over since the car doesn't go over 60km/h anyways!

But it's fun to watch, not fun to get cought... They're do traps and all kinds of procedures to eliminate street racing. The funny part is most of these people are young (18-19 year olds) who just want to establish something like the Fast & The Furious movie.

It's fun to see every one in a while but gets very boring after a bit...

well, i'm not surprised u haven't heard much about racing in boston, we got too many potholes everywhere! wherever i go, i'm bouncing up and down my seat from all those potholes. i doubt ppl will find enough smooth pavement in a remote area to race

street racing here is a common thing and during the summer EVERY NIGHT IN n OUT parking lot is the hot spot..maybe only about 35 parkin places and around 70 cars...i know of one place that we race that is wayyyyyyyyy out in the middle of nowhere..theres an abandoned dump at the end of the road and pure empty fields on the sides for miles...we consider this "safe" if you call any street racing safe.. just dont be stupid and race in populated areas..if you dont have a track (which we dont) try to find uncharted streets and such..be smart.
