Manual Tranny swap for ES300 using V6 Camry Tranny???

My neighbor has a 92-94 Lexus ES300 model which needs some minor work but they are basically willing to give it to me. My question is since i love performance and i need a project car, what kind of obstacles would there be in putting this tranny in, i know the tranny will work since it is that same camry engine but im wondering what else i will need and how much i might spend........ my friend and i will be doing the install so i just need a tranny for the car and any other parts. I think it would be great to have, either this or a swapped civic so i think id rather have this. Please give any input, i can take out a loan for extra money but i think i shold be ok on money since they dont want that much for the at all. Thanks

Wow thanks alot that is great it tells the whole install from top to bottom!! Awesome, looks like its pretty affordable as well. Thanks again, you think i should try this out and see? I mean if the manual works then i can fit a custom turbo on and have a mean lexus. Later

Theres a few guys that've done things that most people figured were impossible or not worth doing. Ratko and SpecBlueCam did the 5spd swap into their Camrys (V6 and I4 respectively,) and Tony the Tiger has done a wild turbo setup on his V6, last I read he's putting down 280whp on stock internals. Luckily for Camry guys, they are all members of this board and are very willing to answer any reasonable and well thought questions that anybody may have.

I love this place.

or if you are in Cali, hit up TAP Recycling, they have a huge stock, but their pricing varies.
