i went to the track tonite and weighed the car and it seemed just too light. last time i went it was 300 pounds more. i dont know if one of the times the scale wasnt working or what not. i've tried to look it up on the web but i get all these b/s sites that dont have the specs on the car. maybe i'm just lookin at the wrong places but if you can help please answer. i have a 92 LE.
i'm not sayin that the gas weighed three hundered pounds. last time i went on march 8 i could have sworn it was 3300 with me in it, this time i did it it weighed 3090. i know it was ok last nite cause when i got out it weighed 300 less and since i'm 300 pounds i think that it was accurate. idk, i guess i just have to weight until next time i go.
Curb weight of a 1992 Camry LE 4cyl Auto is 3054lbs
Curb weight of the LE V6 would be 3252 lbs
Apparently you drove a V6 Camry there the first time and the second time you swapped in a 4Cylinder.
Oh and you also weigh about 50 lbs
I don't know what's up with the scale but you and gas should ad about 220 lbs or so to the above weights. That being said I think the scale was off the SECOND time and you have a 4 cylinder.
Here is the site where I got the info, It is the best I have found for this stuff: http://autos.msn.com/
thankyou for the info and i do have a 4cyl. but i am 300 pounds myself. by the end of the night i was at the low end of my gas guage.
last time i went i had my c/f hood on, my body kit and my big heavy 18" chrome rims with full interior and no spare.
this time when i went i had the stock black rims, same c/f hood and kit and no passenger seat or back seat and no spare.
idk what was goin on and which one was right. i think i'll be goin to the track again tomorrow and i might be racin again i have to see how the weather is. i'll weigh it again.

OMG? WTF? I am not sure I even understand what you are asking, but did you not just explain the weight diffrence to us in your above statement?
1. WTF are you doing going to the track with 18'' chrome rims on your car? Aren't you only gonna weigh in if you are planning on racing? duh!
Now, you said that the seccond time you went you had 1. Steelies, def. lighter than your chromies, 2. no passanger seat 3. no back seats 4. no spare 5. you stated that you were "at the low end of your gas guage"
I guess I really don't understand what you are trying to ask or I am just one big-dumb ass, but all of the parts that you had stipped for the last race you went to would constitute for a 300lb weight differance.
first off when i go to the track i do race. i've been racin for a few years now and that what i like to do. i'm one of the few people that actually does race there camry. i wanted to see how fast i was with the way i drive it everyday and that why i left the chrome rims on. i had to get new tires for my rims so i took them off and it just to happened that i went to the track while they were still off.
second off there is no way that i lost dropped 300 pounds just by taking out the interior and taking off the rims. ok i am 300 pounds. so the first time i went (without me being in the car) it came out to be 3000 pounds. this time i when i went it was 2790 without me being in the car. i dont see how i could have lost anther 300 pounds just from takin the rims off and 2 seats.
what i'm basically asking is what is the the weight for a stock gen 3 le i4. i just want to know how much weight i'm shaving off by taking this stuff off. its that simple really. just what is the stock weight of the car before modification.
wraith told me its between 3200-3400. i wanna see what anyone else has to offer, thats all. If this is the weight of the car then the first time i weighed the car it was feasable. the second time seems a little light.

thats what mine weighted in with a little more than half tank... With full interior and 3s-gte and tranny...

thanks chris. where did you get that number from?
no see thats the problem I dont know exactly... When I dynoed I thought the power was kinda on the low side. So about a week later when I had the chance of work and the car was sitting since the dyno run. I ran a compression test on the motor and found out that the motor was already on its way out. The compression was 1#=140, 2#=125, 3#=125, 4#=140 and I only had the chance of dyno'ing at 13psi. So I dont really what I could have run at 18psi. I guess I never will know ...
