Rust question

Hmm, tell me guys, if I fixed my door with galvanized sheet steel, then just sprayed undercoating (that black stuff) inside the door and painted the outside, would that keep the rust away? Would the undercoat basically work as paint?

you mean rockguard, yeah, sure, as long as you're keeping the air off it

although i think a rust primer/paint (tremclad) would be more effective though

naw, tremclad rust paint is garbage...dont even go there

my friend's 87 celebrity has been painted with tremclad for 5 years, not a spec of rust on that thing

Well basically the reason I'm asking is, that my car was now painted, yeah it looks great from outside, but the problem is, now I'm not sure, I'll ask tomorrow, wether or not he sprayed primer inside the door prior to putting undercoating in it (the black stuff). So now I'm wondering if he didnt put primer, what the hell am I gonna do to avoid having the rust blow up on me again.

rocker gaurd is useless but undercoating is better than paint cause undercoating is tar with lots of oil which repells water well
no water and metal contact means no rust
