tie rod end ball joint grease refill?

last weekend i went over to my buddys and he had started changing his struts, but he hadn't seperated it at the knuckle, he took the whole friggin thing off

i just thought he had given himself a lot more trouble until putting it back together, i noticed the tie rod end had shot its load

can you refill the grease in there or do you have to change the whole tie rod end?

an acura legend up on a speed bump with a broken tie rod yesterday made me think of this, wouldn't want that to happen

You have to replace the tie rod end.

I'm not sure about your car, but basicly, if it has a nipple on the joint, you can grease it. If it dosent you gotta replace it. I think mainly only domestic cars have grease nipples on suspension parts.

yup if it has grease fittings on them you can try to pump grease in there, but chances are they are shot.

having a look at it, it dosent' look bad, there isnt' much play in it, anything i should look for?

it dosen't really clunk or anything while drivign... is it worth replacing now or should he wait till it breaks? or should there be warning of failure?
