Original battery on 02. Replace?

I have the original battery in the 02 LE with 83k miles.

Should I replace it preemptively? It's 5 years old and getting into that territory where things begin to fail.

i would say go ahead since i had to change my some time this year. It was at 5 years and it kicked the bucket. I replaced it with the Optima Reptop battery. thing is heavy.

I would replace it. No reason to wait until it fails, or leaks, or whatever.

What batteries are compatible with 02 Camry?

Any deals currently from Sears, Autozone, Advanced Auto, Walmart, etc?

Anything that is BCI group 35 should fit.

However, I suggest that you just keep close tabs on it, and replace it only when you sense that it's about to die, eg. it takes longer than usual to crank.
