I race a 92 paseo dirt stockcar, and was wondering if there is a way to lock the fwd,so I can get both tires biteing at the same time. Any help appreciated.
Sorry, but we have no pictures on line. I have seen a picture of your car on RaceNY, before. You may be able to see a picture of the car by going to www.penncan.com, my son was driving and won the King of the Can,this year. Car is #50. Sure hope your car is as quick as ours.Even with the 1.5,we can run with anybody in our class, Going for 2 track championships this year.
goodluck.

Congrats on the track championship! I am very impressed with the 1.5 in the Paseo. You are right, the car goes to the front every time. Amazing for a 100 h.p engine. I plan to race next week in the Albany Saratoga Hangover 100 enduro. That will be the first outing with the manual trans. I won't be able to put the power down on ice though. Will have to wait until the Spring for that.
Regarding the open diff, do you guys really get wheelspin on the dirt? I haven't really noticed wheelspin on mine with the automatic. Maybe I will now [with the manual trans] though.

I do rallyx not circle track, so we are running on very different dirt surfaces and at very different speeds, but I find I get a lot of wheel spin (even with Kumho R700 gravel tires). you can see it here:
yes,we get some wheel spin, and yes totally differant tracks, we run on packed clay. We are also very limited on tires we can run. Mike, dont know what tires you run,but we run largest allowed. We also found running directional tires backwards gets the best bite for us. BTW,we didnt get the championship yet, didnt start racing the paseo until august this year. We will get atleast 1 this year though. Good luck this weekend,Albany is quite a haul for us,we are near Binghamton. Would love to race in January. You will love the manual trannie, hold on man.
good luck, Gene
I'm switching my dirt oval '92 Paseo race car over to asphalt. I through away my original front bar long ago. Now I need another one. I'm in the upstate New York. Anyone got a parts car in my area?
Gene is your Paseo still out there racing? Mine is. I replaced the stock front sway bar and ran it in a 50 lap enduro a couple of Friday nights ago. Our local track is now paved and I bought two Falken Azena tires [195/60R14] for the right side. I started 21st out of the 34 four and six cyl. FWD cars and finished third. I did manage to bend up the driver's fender and hood [again], but I've got it all fixed again.
Just as a follow up, I won the next two 50 lap enduros on pavement this summer and crossed the finish line first out of 58 cars in the 200 lap Halloween Enduro a few weeks ago. This was in a class where any FWD car is eligible, with a normally aspirated 4 or 6 cyl. engine. It's competitive with 3.0 and 3.5 V-6's!
The Paseo makes an excellent short track enduro car.
