more problems with my project car

ok, so i got the head almost ready to go back on, but today i decided to do more, take off the oil pan, clean up and shit, so now i got a few minor problems i need answered

- the nut on the inside of the oil pan is loose, can those just get welded back on?

- while dragging the car up the ramps with a come-along, i noticed the parking brake was seized, i know that usually you have to replace the cable, is there anyway to fix it cheaply?

I'd check to see if the cable is seized before you do that. Could be the pads are stuck to the drums if it's been sitting a while with the brake engaged. Pop the drums off and squirt everything down with WD40.
JK, but you should make sure everything inside the drum is moving and it's really the cable that is stuck. You may have to whack the drum a few times with a deadblow to break it loose if the pads are stuck to it.

taking a brake drum off with the parking brake engaged, man, that's gonna take a whole lot of beating

damn it, i'm kicking myself for this, i could have sworn i intended to leave the parking brake off

meanwhile parts are on their way on the bus, there's almost an engine in there! it turns over without breaking the valves or rockers *woohoo*

now all i need is a torque wrench...
