4banger camry -> mr2 twin turbo?

opinions on a 97 camry's 4 banger swapped to an mr2 turbo and a transmission switch. I already know how to do the transmission switch and Ive been looking at switching in a v6 or a lexus engine, but the mr2's mid-engine is looking the most promising.

anyone know the procedures/complications with this kind of a switch?

-- for the records, i realize it would be alot easier on myself to just buy an mr2, but wheres the fun?!?!

If you use the search feature u'll find dozens of threads on how to

1) Turbo a 5SFE
a) with the 5sfe engine in tact
b) using the 3sgt3 head

2) Swap a 3SGTE (mr2) into a Camry

as much as i enjoy talking about dryhumping in the back of a toyota...

is it possible to turbo a 1997 5sfe? I know it was possible with the 92-93's...I've heard some skepticism...here's the webpage of a guy whos building his own turbocharger kit for his 93:

http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=430269&page=1

Anyone know if the 97 engine can get turboed???

You can basically turbo any four cylinder camry(Or don't forgot those v6 turbo camrys). Just takes time and patience and money of course. Check out the burien toyota kit at www.poweredbytoyota.com or the ripp mods supercharger at www.rippmods.com The 92-93 camry 5sfe has forged internals so it can handle more stress as in psi. Not too much though. I could be wrong on that. If I am someone please correct me! Just figure out first if you want to buy a kit or do it yourself. From there just figure out what you need and go for it. Good luck-its not easy!

Okay, I was partly wrong ealier. The 92-93 has forged pistons-not sure about the rest like the crank, etc. Hope this helps.
