So I got this garrett GT28r.

I've had it for a couple years now, Brand New never used. I decided to use it on my new 5sfte project, and well.. It leaks oil. Not from the feed or return but from the inside. I can see it inside the compressor side coming out by the compressor wheel. Like theres an internal seal leaking. I would like to just replace the seals myself without sending it out. I read somewhere that you cant get seals for them. And that im better off buying a new one. Anybody know for sure?

go online and get a rebuild kit, sounds like your internal seals are shot. You can do it yourself.

Fixed it. left the breather hose on the valve cover, and the pressure was keeping the oil from draining into the oil pan so the oil pressure was forcing the oil through the seals on the turbo. all better now, no smoke.
