RPM dropoff and stall
I have an '89 camry with the V6.
whenever my RPM's are dropping back down to idle (say I was rolling down a hill in third and then I put it in neutral) they drop way too low and the car occasionaly stalls. This happens anytime the engine is droping from higher RPM to a no load condition. Like when I have it in neutral and hit the gas for a sec, the rpm goes up normally then drops down to below 600 then comes back up and idles.
Also my idle is a little low and erratic. I can't manually adjust the idle because the ECU compensates and keeps it low.
Earlier posts indictated that a bad fuel filter could be the problem but I am pretty sure it isn't in this case.
Does anyone know what would cause this problem? I am assuming it is a sensor but I don't know which one it would be.
