94 4-runner engine upgrade?

ive got a 94 4 runner with a tiny little 4 cyl.
rebuilt the head 4-5 months ago, she blew up again

im about to put a new engine in it.
does anyone have any info on engine upgrades for this vehicle

can you put the newer 4 cyl in or the V6, relatively easily
does the tranny match?, mines a manual.

I believe the V6 is a drop in with the matching computer, etc.
Check on www.yotatech.com for 4Runner and truck specific info.
