2zz-ge in an sw20

Will a swap for the 2zz-ge engine in a SW20 work. I was told by the mechanics at my local TRD dealer that the new 1zz-fe will bolt right in, so I just figured that the 2zz would to, but I was wanting to make sure. Thanks

Are you sure a 1ZZ will drop in? I've never heard of anything like that. But yeah, if it does, the 2ZZ will too.

Thats what I'm saying, its a completely different design than the S series motors. Even if it could drop in, why would you want to? If it were going into an AW11, then maybe, but when you have a 3SGTE as stock equipment... it doesn't get much better.

the question I have to ask is ... WHY ??? If you went with a N/A motor I would rather go with a 3s-ge beams motor of the 3rd and 4th Gen N/A MR2's both European and Japanese models had these...
