Arrow The craziest motor swap conversion ever. period.

I posted this in the supra forums but I figured I'd get some more exposure in this area.

Alright guys, here's the deal. I'm new. I have this crazy idea in my head...and it's going to happen come hell or high water. I know it's never done before, but I want to do it.

Rembmer in Tokyo Drift where they put the nissan engine in the mustang? Yeah, that was the coolest idea ever in my opinion .

Now, here's the deal

1.) I own a stripped out 1967 Pontiac GTO with no drivetrain that's been sitting in my garage partially restored with all the bodywork done for the last 4 years. I bought it as a rust-bucket that needed everything...and it came with no motor/trans. I absolutely am in love with the car (it was a birthday present from my dad in high school) but i absolutely HAVE v8's...I want nothing to do with them.

2.) I love supras but will never have the money to own one.

3.) I love the 1j-2jz engines and the power/performance they provide.

4.) I want to join the 2 in unholy matrimony

The suspension is already done, with a "G-machine/pro-touring" kit installed. It's got a 4 wheel disc brake kit...a rebuilt 10 bolt rear end with posi gears and all the works...powdercoated gloss black frame, boxed control arms and polyurethane suspension everywhere. I even have 17" cragar wheels sitting on low profile rubber just sitting on the car right now.

The engine bay has LOTS of room to put it in. I'd know I'd need custom mounts and stuff...but I mean...MAN...where to begin???? And please don't bash...I know I've fallen off the beaten path from the musclecar crowd...but I'm 21 and I dislike the old farts that are associated with these cars (no offense). I want a project that'd different, I've already got the car and it's just begging to do this. I've got the cash...just tell me where to start, who to talk to and how to begin.

my e-mail is bryanjensen0@gmail.com if anyone wants to contribute or tell me who to talk to or where to go. I can send you pictures of my car if you want too.

always assuming that people driving muscle cars are old. lol. im 22 and own a 69 Dodge Charger RT and a 74 Dodge Challenger. lol. but i still love my camry.

best of luck to you. keep everyone posted with pics. i would love to see this all done. not to sure about GM products, but you might need to change to K-frame to support a V6 if it originally had a V8 in it. other then that its just getting motor mounts made, and making sure the cross member and trans mount will line up. getting a custom drive shaft made (driveshaftshop.com i believe is a good place) and of course the dreadful wiring.

Don't you think that car is a bit heavy for the 6 cylinder? What gear do you intend to run in rear?

Put a big electric motor in it and a bunch of lithium batteries.

You must see the following:

Will blow away the stock V8!

I am just about done converting a 2001 RAV4 AWD - will have way more power than the stock engine...

I think it's a great idea.
It will also leave more room in the GTO engine bay to work in than a Supra.
How about some pics of the GTO as it is right now? plzzzz

Make a v8 out of two 4ages ;D

No but seriously that is sick, imagine the size of the turbo you could fit in that. or two o.O

Good luck, and don't let anyone kill your dreams. Just because someone doesn't like what your doing doesn't mean jack shit in the end. Wish I could help
