(First off -- sorry if this isn't hardcore, but I posted to the Corona Forum and got not response. If there's a general tech forum, please point me there!)
I have an '80 Corona Deluxe with power steering. I recently replaced the power steering pump because of groaning and pulsing (well, maybe hardcore

) coming from the steering. I flushed the fluid until it ran clear, topped it off with Dexron ATF, and bled it according to my Haynes by cranking the wheel back and forth. But the steering continues to moan and groan and it increases with engine speed or steering wheel angle. The counter guy at my nearby bigbox parts store says it sounds like an old Ford when it's low on fluid -- but it's up to the mark. Could air be trapped inside the pump or maybe in the line somewhere? Is there a bench-bleeding technique like for a master cylinder? From what I've found in my manual and online, this should be a fairly straightforward replacement, but . . .
I welcome any assistance -- thanks much!
