FPR compatibility?

I have a 92 Celica 5SFE . had a fire too . the fuel line rotted around the fpr, released fuel, combusted all over my motor. . . I fixed it.

I used a FPR from a 3SFE. Everything's great except the fact that she don't like to start w/ really cold conditions, while the motor is cold. warm, no problems.

When I spray brake clean in the throttle body, cold she starts right up! but has to warm up for any kind of throttle responce beyond idle. falls on her face and dies. but again, warmed up, no problems!

I hypothisies that the fpr is different some how? even though it looks freakin identical! lower fuel presure than required? anything? help me please.

(I know my punctuation and spellin suck.)

Thankyou for any helpful advice my friends.

Chad

is it possible that the fire burnt a wire to say the idle air control valve? I don't see a fpr causing a hard cold start condition.

brand new harness. good compression. no vacume leaks. my throttle body is a little warped, no real idle issue, but could the very cold ambient air leakin in and the not sealed system be part of my issue? i'm not sure... when I disconnect my map sensor I only have to crank it for about five min before she gets goin. then I reconnect and let her warm up in this cold weather. w/ the map sensor, I crank till my battery dies and finally get her going. warmed up, no problems.

have you actually checked the fuel pressure to see what it is. you could have gotten a faulty fpr
