1992 camry 5sfe 4cyl. balance assembly

balance assembly is worn out . can this assembly be eliminated by removing the shafts from the housing and bolting the empty housing back in original position? will there be any neg. effects?

we had discussed this, debaring if the little oil passages to lubricate the bearings in the balance assembly would lead to catastrophic loss of oil volume and pressure at some parts of the engine
