tips on FF drifting?

i can't seem to master my camry's drift...
can anyone give me any tip?
i am basically trying to get my camry to an inertia(sway) drift but i can't... i am not using any e-brakes because i know it can be done w/o it...i am not going slow becaue ive done a corner at 70mph and all i got was a lil understeer...
So if anybody sporting a camry and know what i am talking about please enlighten me wit some info....
--the only way ive been able to do this drift was on wet or snowy surface...pathetic i know....

also, the method i use is the tap gas method...maybe my whole approach is wrong? but i come half way to doing it ?

Dude, you're trying this shit at 70??? Be careful, man. No need to go so fast...

With FF, you basically need to plant the front in a corner so that the back end has less traction and thus can break free due to momentum. This can be accomplished by suddenly lifting off the throttle right after turn-in at the corner, or by braking right after turn-in. The angle of your wheels and the timing has to be just right.

Work on it in an empty, snowy parking lot to get the timing right before you try it on a track. It's much easier to do it a very slow speeds which is heplful to get everything down before you try it at 30 or 50 mph on pavement where you can risk wrecking your car.

One other thing, with my car it seems that if I've got a lot of stuff in the trunk it's a lot harder on pavement to get the back to break loose, cause the tires are loaded and gripping in back. With less weight it seems the car is more prone to skipping. OTOH, with more stuff in back on snowy roads, since I have no traction anyway all the extra inertia makes it easier. So it also can depend on your driving surface.

Whiteline/TRD rear swaybar is almost a necessity item to get the tail out in a Camry.

Here's an absolutely fantastic article written the great ACP: http://www.rallysport.on.ca/articles/Driving.html
It's basically all about drifting in different cars, under different circumstances. But you have to read the whole thing (don't worry it's not that long), because it's all very important, and very relevant. So don't just read the FWD part, because you'll be missing alot. In fact, the most important part, is the section about Weight Transfer.

Wedge and Brink are like lost brothers.

Both have a mustache.

Both do insane things with their cars.

I don't know what else you'd call it, cause really it's the right term. To be real initial-d-like you need to say "e-nertia drifto! banzai!" like Itsuki.

Ekam: does that mean we're also long lost brothers with every other guy that has a mustache? Cra-z.

Wedge: picked that name the first time I ever went online... it was for a fantasy MUD based in germany. Was trying to think of a name that was unique and not too much like "Dar" or "Salazar" or something like that, yet still sounded unusual and appropriate. 12 years later the name has just sort of stuck with me cause that's how a lot of people know me.

You know, it took me awhile to make the Wedge connection with Star Wars... for awhile I was thinking wedge like an actual wedge such as this <| Thought that was a little... different. Wedge, the unsung hero of the SW universe.

Yeah, Wedge was my first online name too! It's never changed. I got it back in 'The Day', even before I'd ever been on the internet, I'm talking about dial-up BBS message boards baby! Even some people I know in real life called me that, and didn't learn my real name for a long time. That's just the kind of geeks we were in high school!

FF Dont Drift...

Sorry bro... but FF do not drift. Your just power-sliding, you need power in the rear wheels to drift man.

Drift is defined as the state when all 4 wheels are sliding.

You don't need to power the rear wheels to do that.
