CT26 Wastegate flex pipes

Hello everyone,

I know my question might seem a bit dumb but is anyone here able to tell me where (from/to) go the flex pipes on the ct 26 turbo wastegate. I am not sure to understand...
Thank you for your help !

Flex pipes?

You talking about the vacuum hose from the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing?

Yes exactly ! It seems there is one going from the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing and another one leaving the wastegate actuator to go to where ?
Thank you for your help !

You have a dual port actuator.

I believe the other port on the wastegate goes to a VSV. You can probably cap it off and leave it alone.

Is the turbo from a 3S-GTE?

Yes it's coming from a 3sgte. So you 'd just leave it alone ? (That's what I was about to do in fact) Thank you 88 le !

Yeah I'd leave it alone.

Place a vacuum hose cap over it and use a small hose clamp to secure it so that it doesn't pop off.

Caping it or leaving it open will give you different boost responses... hopefully you pick the right option!

Just wanted to clarify something.

You cap off one of the ports on the actuator and leave the other one connected (actuator to compressor housing).

If you don't have a hose going from the actuator to the compressor housing the wastegate will never open. You'll overboost and possibly destroy the turbo from overspinning it.

^ Ditto what 88LE said. ^
Both bibs go to the same chamber so if you leave one open, no pressure can build in the actuator to open the wastegate. You must plug the one that doesn't go to the compressor. Or you could put a boost controller on it, I suppose.

Heh... I should let the guys that know the CT-26 wastegate actuator talk.

I have an extra actuator for my T3 that has two ports on it - on is on each side of the diaphram (ie, pull on the actuator arm, air goes in one and out the other).

I'm hoping that its a lower spring pressure than the one that is on there currently so that I don't overboost like somebody else I know... *cough*88LE*cough*

Weird. I've never seen a actuator with a port on each side of the diaphram.

The dual port actuator that we're talking about above has 2 ports on the top half of the diaphram.

Haha...

I was going to buy a external wastegate (HKS standard) and modify the adapter for it. But I melted a piston before I got around to it.
