What are some great/good performance struts and shocks for the mkii supra and 86 cressida? I believe the konis for the front were discontinued. Anyone know where i can pick up some of these that may be left over in a warehouse somewhere? What about the KYB GR-2's Are they good or what? Ive heard that they arent too great and people werent satisfied with them. Any suggestions? Thanks
well they didnt say they were bad, maybe i should re word that. here is one of the replys
"i wold only recommend them for a vehicle with spring rates about 20% stiffer than stock, as the shocks are only about 20% stiffer...or whatever the right word is there.."
here is the other
"I have those GR2's in the back of my MR2 and i don't lik ethem for performance applications at all. No where near enough damping at all. Very smooth tho....they give a very nice ride with near stock spring rates, but with stiffer springs, they don't have enough damping at all. Great stock replacement."

did you know:
i designed the logo for dorikaze over 3 yrs ago! haha
anyways, you can ask shaun here about the feel of my ride, he tends to like it alot.
but i would have to agree with what they said, my ride is NOT SUPER STIFF, i am not using a single rate spring either. so i would have to say that my ride is probably about 30-50% stiffer than stock, but the trick is i find too many people rely on their shocks to overdampen to compensate for their spring rates. now if this is what you are going to do, then i would not reccommend these. if you want to fine tuen your suspension and go around the same corner 50x choosing a different spring and shock adjustment every time, then get something adjustable,
i am unfamilier with what performance springs there are for your cressida, but i wouldn't imagine they would be the likes and rates of what them edmonton boys are running on their cars...
the kyb shock/strut complements my setup and i am satisfied with it...predictable, trackable, and streetable.
i have witenessed bad things about tokiko's but i know alot of people have them. downtown streets here have pretty big pot holes, and a friend of mine struck one and broke his shock, so everything has to be taken with a grain of salt.
but with the price you posted on dorikaze i think that is very resonable..
You know the Strust doesn't make as much difference as the spring, so you should know what's the best Spring/Strut Combo..
I have Tokico/Apex on the back and KYB/Apex on the front and I'm pretty satidfied with the performance.. Don't ask me why different struts, it's a long story!!

im getting tokicos. i found some and thats what im getting. huh ben? I cant find anyone who makes coil overs for my car. Even if i find someone who does i think im just gonna stick with the KG/MM's
Well, in finland I know theres machine shops that can custom make you a set of coilovers and they're approved in the yearly inspection. I'm pretty sure you would have the same chances in US/CAN.

hello!! yea, i sat in andrew's car as he was driving and i took it for a spin too. i love the setup he has. very little lean, and at the same time, the ride is firm. its not bouncy, its just firm. predictable handling and very nice response. i was super surprised to find out that his springs were progressive. cos i've had experience with progressive springs on and SiR and it just made it worse..
