I'm not 100% sure about the ratios (I'll have to check the manuals) but I would agree that they're slightly lower than the automatic, for better acceleration. Also, the final drive is higher for better milage! Underline BETTER!! LOL, I love manual!

Hmmm that's a good question. If it follows the trend like the auto, the gear ratios are the same on the I4 5-spd as the V6 5-spd. Just a beefier tranny for the V6 in both cases.

You might as well!! If it were me, I would put the gears 1st to 4th a little lower maybe, and then make 5th REALLY tall so you still get wicked mileage. I dunno, see what the tranny people say, but that's what I think.
