Arrow wow!! explosive stuff doesn't work

If you ever thought of wiring up things that you think will make your ride faster:

I had a bright Idea and decided to do some stuff that seemed like it will give me horse power. My dad has some oxygen tanks hanging around the house, and some hydrogen and some methane tanks. So I had the bright Idea of putting those tanks in my car and had them wired deep into my cold air intake actually past the intake crome tube and into the square part. I had bought some High liter/minute regulators and some high pressure tubing w/ wire mesh all around it. Spend a load of cash. So first I started with the oxygen tank. When I ran it with 45 liters per minute the car was a little quicker. So then I decided that the oxygen was too rich and was maxing with the fuel so then I wired the hydrogen in there the same way. That did nothing but make the engine sound aggressive. So then I replaced it with the propane. and that was better. I probably gained an aditional 20hp. Then my dad saw what was doing and explained to me how I could blow myself up with the propane because of the hose can catch on fire and back into the propane tank. When I looked at the hoses afterward the hoses were coated w/frost. I figured that the propane and the oxygen worked as nos does. I think I will find a nos kit and be safe. I consider my brainstorming overwith. now I have holes in my firewall and in my intake tube. Oh what fun. DO NOT TRY THIS. THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS. I was stupid however I knew a little bit on how to play it safe. :

I love trying new things on cars. That is why I do stuff like this. I will now stay in bound with things that are proven to work

Propane is great for upping your octane... And also is awesome when it comes to highly boosted cars. But I personnally think the flame patern would be too hot and start to melt your pistons, if not regulated...

You have a mis conception^^^^^

propane (C3H8) does not boost your octane (C8H18) The octane # is the percentage of molelucules that are branched. If all are branched it is octane 100. branched molecules burn slower and they prevent knocking of the engine.

The oxygen wont hurt as much as the hydrogen and the propane, the propane will hurt it quite alot actualy, whats fun to do with it though is port inject it into a desil, just like shooting noss, makes it knock like hell too.
Oxgen works like nos dose because in either case you are oxadising the air and well what besides fuel causes combustion, AIR, and more importantly OXYGEN, but if i were you Id got for the noss tank itself, mainly because the the oxygen will cut a valve or even a piston right in half, just like hitting the oxygen lever on a cutting tourch.
But good luck and happy runnings.

Maverick.

good analogy. Cutting tourches are fun. However I don't think it is the same thing because I was shooting the oxygen in the intake manifold. So I was adding an additional 30% oxygen concentration.

if all are branched at 100, how can we get race gas (116), or aviation fuel (130)

well, i suppose that these molecules form long carbon chains. with a single bond to 2 carbons and 2 hydrogens, with 3 hydrogens bonded to the end carbons.

__H H H

H-C-C-C-H

(propane)

__H H H H H H H H

H-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-H

__H H H H H H H H
(octane)

if the theory that the longer the chain was, the higher octane, wouldn't we just use pentane or higher for race fuel?

EDIT: this is really hard to format right, ignore the underscores.
EDIT: Figure it out, you're smart
