If I recall, the C blocks are the diesels.
According to the info I have, the 1C-T in the Camry is non-interference, but they might have changed something on the 3C-TE that makes it interference (there's a 200cc difference). If they said "timing belt replace" on your recepit, they are liable. If they said "timing belt adjust" and you signed it, then things are more complicated.
I wish I could be more help, but turbo diesels aren't really popular in the US. All our Toyota Vans came with petrol powered Y blocks.
