adjusting auto's kickdown point for better responsiveness?

i as reading the thread (link below), and was wondering on peoples thoughts on doing this, or perhaps people who have tried this, and what the feeling on it was.

The cable is right next to the throttle cable. You can do it.. If you pull it out to much you'll get a rough upshift usually from 1-2 a kick.. but ya, you can adjust it.. make it more sensitive. What I basically do on my custom setup on my 4af is I adjusted the cable so that when I go WOT the kick-down cable is pulled full way.

Hmmm sounds like the guy in that thread just adjusted his throttle cable... After reading this I went outside and tightened up my throttle cable and my kickdown cable. The difference is noticeable (although my car is still slow - darn ). It shifts a little rougher from 1st to 2nd, and a little slower from 2nd to 3rd, but it downshifts easily now, whereas before it was a struggle and sometimes wouldn't shift at all. This is on a 4af by the way.
