front clip

alright everyone talks about doing a 3sgte swap into there celicas. and i have ran into a lot of problems when looking up how to do it and fittings and stuff... so i thought... would it be easier just to buy a front clip with a 3sgte in it already, and just change out your front clips so you wont have to mess with installing the engine yourself and doing all the fabrications. any thoughts on that?! harder or easier then doing an engine swap?

You mean cutoff your stock clip and weld on a new one? Thats def more work than swapping the engine and harness.

^ Haha.... Monster Garage.

Seriously though even if you do manage to weld it back together you still have stuff to hookup.

Because removing and re-installing an engine isn't THAT much work... People buy a clip because it has all of the part necessary - engine, transmission, turbo, wiring harness, bolts, nuts, accessories, body panels, etc...

A front clip is literally that - they take a huge saw and cut the car in half, just behind the front door hinges. It would be nearly impossible to re-attach it to another car...

^ you heard it here first folks!

the front clip is to have all the things you need in one spot, instead of going out to misc. junkyards trying to find parts...

well that sounds cool...but if you can find the engine and ecu and harness for cheaper then a front clip it makes getting a front clip pointless right...except for all of it is already together and stuff but you would have to take it apart to take it out and put in correct?

no... you will still need misc. stuff... like radiator, ignitor, axles, hubs, motor mounts, tranny mount, etc... you need all that stuff to do a 3sgte swap... thats why everyone gets clips, cause they are all inclusive. they arent missing anything... if you just get the motor and tranny and ecu and wiring, and axles, radiator, motor mounts, trsanny mount... you are looking at more time and probably more money if bought seperately... plus you have to go around and find all that shit
