Canada Specs for setting TPS on '86 GT?

Does anyone have the specs for testing the throttle position sensor on an '86 GT 5 speed? Very consistant repetitive surging at idle, have changed all vacuum hoses, cleaned and reconnected EGR (was plugged off, why, I don't know, any suggestions)? Have had TPS problems with other vehicles with similar symptoms, just need to test before replacing.
Thanks,
Seann

Any error codes? Is the CEL on?
Are you sure there are no kinks or sharp bends in the hoses and that the ends are clamped properly?
Did you check and clean the IACV?
Did you clean the throttle body?

This is the check for the 4A-GE 20V Blacktop TPS. It may not necessarily be the same but it's the closest thing I can access. Measure yours and compare first and adjust only if necessary, marking down the old values before any adjustment is made.
