I think Lafora is trying to go on a budget to get tires and such. First question is do you want an all season tire or... are you going to be running a set for summer + winter
I would think it's best that you ask other AE86 drivers as to their tire and tire size preference as I recall Jover had an issue with his car and how a 5% in the profile caused a little rubbing.
I personally think an all round good tire would be a Pielli P4000 Super Touring. For my Accord they improved the corning capabilities of the car and better winter traction, only drawback were they kinda loud. Price wise they weren't too expensive I believe I paid aproximately $500 Including ttaxes for a set of 205/60/15's
a520 14/60/195 - very sticky and got a stiff sidewall for a 60...60 the lowest though kinda sucks..makes tire look chunky
they are good, but if you are worrying about tire rubbing with a 7 or wider rim, you're gonna want to go with 195/55/14 or lower.
Kuhmo's are really good, i'm thinking of getting these for my ssr's. another consideration are falken azenis which are really the best bang for the buck but are harder to find and I think you can find dunlops in a 55...but really, why would you want dunlops?
well i'm gonna go the budget route when it comes to rims..(see if i can find some cheap, but decent mesh hehe)
budget for tires is prolly 600 bucks for a whole set...i think that should be adequate considering i won't be doing any crazy driving / mods for some time.

i don't find the a520 any louder or quieter than the bridgestones or the like....they're really not that loud...you would expect quieter for the amount of money you pay, but they're no louder than any all weather radial.
