I have, or i'm going to have in a few months, at least, a 1990 cressida. is there a way to convert it to a manual transmission? and just how hard would it be... a friend and i would be doing all the work, if at all possible, so i'm kinda curious about how hard it would be... i know i'll have to make a hole for the clutch pedal, but other than that, i don't know what else i need to do. i'll probably try to get the transmission out of a mk3 supra, just because they used the same engine, but does it fit? or should i use a different transmission? any advice would be VERY nice.

I believe that if they made Cressida's of the same year also in manual, then it would be totally possible. Because auto manufacturers, when they make cars in both manual and auto, they start with manual and make it. Then they seal up all the unnecessary holes and whatnot and then turn it into an automatic. It sounds good what you are doing.

dunno which engine urs uses.. but if it's a 5 or 7 MGE, then the W58s from the Supras should be a direct fit.

i'm not too sure about this..but from the info i looked that, this seems to be the case.

if someone knows otherwise, speak up

I wouldn't recommend it unless your car comes with a 5 speed, because you'll need a 5 speed ECU.
