silvertop 165hp, blacktop 175hp
Silvertop revs less, blacktop revs more. Silvertop =heavier internals, blacktop = lighter internals.
Blacktop AE111 Levin (newer)
Silvertop AE101 Levin (older)

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
AFM = Air Flow Meter

A MAP sensor and AFM do basically the same thing, measure the amount of air going into the engine to help figure out what sort of fuel and spark it needs (along with input from other sensors.) An AFM uses a flapper door to measure air, while a MAP sensor measures the pressure of the intake manifold. AFM's are regarded as being less accurate and restrictive on a tuned motor. MAP is better, unless you plan on staying mostly stock, in which case it doesn't really matter.

slivertop cuts off at 7200rpm while blacktop is at 7400rpm

ractive_roLLa.... a full engine swap goes for around $3500. that's with an uncut harness, ecu, 6-speed tranny, etc. you can get a cheap one from Tiger Auto for $1000 but you have to locate your own harness which is harder than locating a whole motor.

ADDED INFO: the most significant difference between the 2 when it comes to performance (stock vs. stock) is that the blacktop has a smoother power curve than the silvertop. also, aside from the internals, the ITBs on the blacktop is slightly bigger than the silvertop. you can also run open throttle bodies on the BT kinda like a carb-d set-up.

That being said...we get stuck with AFM most of the time.

Goddammit.

^ or you can look for a blacktop or any MAP type ECU for your engine and get a sensor.... open ITBs, hehehe!

Deep... do you know anyone that had successfully assembled a MegaSquirt? i know it's a cheaper alternative but i'm not very good with electricals, hehehe.
