Well, my dad just picked one of these up for 1500 bucks, in perfect condition. I know they made em, but they were illegal to buy in California, so.. I was just curious, since it seems like it could be a fun car with some mods, anyone know what the hell I can do to it? Maybe put a Supercharger on it? Turbo? Any performance mods you know of for this car would be great!! Thanks in advance.
P.S- If you know anyone lookin to buy a 99 SS- LS1 with some bolt ons, let me know!
A V6 5-speed is pretty fast by itself. There isn't much room in the engine bay for a turbo or supercharger... I would say go for suspension mods first. You can go for a nice custom cat back and build your own cold air intake for a few ponies, but you aren't going to get major power out of the motor without a lot of work.

stop talkin shit fellas... the forum is to help people out, not to try and make others look stupid. remember you were the noobs not too long ago...
new guy... you cant do much with the 2.5 2vz-fe, you can do a custom turbo kit, but it would have to be completely custom... you can do a custom CAI, custom exhaust, upgrade suspension like white90 said, do some bodykit stuff, do some interior stuff... the 2nd gen v6 doesnthave much room for improvement. however if you had the 4cylinder, you could easily swap in a 3sgte and put down some good power...
Garrett, what part of Orange County are you from? I might be able to answer all your questions pretty quickly in person. Sometimes its hard over the internet to quickly get a handle on what's out there for a car. Heck, I can even show you my turbo Camry... I warn you though, its a work in progress.

If you want the car to go fast, swap in a 3sgte. It will bolt right in and you can reuse the axles you have. You can also use the tranny but it will probably die after a while so I wouldn't recommend it.
I would like to see someone fix up the V6 though. Like maybe port and polish, custom cams, etc. But to be truthful with you. The 4 cyl in those cars is probably a much better starting point. More potential, more aftermarket parts, and cross compatibility with other engines.
you can search for suspensions on the forum, or look into the FAQ on the main page..
or click on the camry FAQ in the Camry forum, i made a post about body kits and accessories for Camrys...
please try and be more specific next time when asking a question; the fact that we are a toyota oriented board doesnt mean we can answer any and every question, especially with such vague information...
but welcome none-the less, and post up any pics/vids of your Camaro in the o/t forum..

Yeah. I Would like to see what you can do with the car. To make the V6 fast you are really going to have to put some money and custom work into it. And watch the headgastket. I ahve heard of numerous people having issues with it. I would like to see what you can do with the engine but realistically, I would just save time and money and swap it for a 3sgte.
