someone has a sig that says

"Who needs 4WD when you got twin turbo"

not flaming, just discussing here.

i thought 4WD provides more grip, while TT gives ya the power

so IDEALLY you'd want both

i'm guessing if i got twin turbo (ya right ), i sure as well would like AWD to go with it.

Uh... isn't that the reason why so many people dig skyline because of that?

This is just me, I don't really like high-powered 4WD cars except for the Porsche 959, which is number one on my dream car list.
I always liked RWD cars, and no matter how fast or cheap (in terms of price) they may be I still don't find them desirable like GTR, EVO and WRX. I do not know why Porsche change their 911 turbo to AWD instead of RWD, RWD is so fun to drive with. Of course AWD makes driving easier but what's the fun when you just make things easier why don't they just equip them with automatic transmission. Being able to control a 300+HP RWD is like taking a conquest, now with AWD it is a whole different story.

well then again just my thought.

all factors constant, a AWD car would probably be faster than a FR car in all conditions

otherwise, they wouldn't have been banned in BTCC.

what Audi achieved was unbelievable. it lapped the field and then some that year with its quattro A4

Well I only mentioned FUN factor, not about layout. I think all FF,FR,MR,RR and AWD have their advantages and disadvantages depending on their size and purpose.
I just like the fun of driving a hi powered rear wheel drive car. I think all the exotic car makers must agree with me, that is why you see all ferraris, Viper, Vector, McLearn... are RWD.

haha I agree with you, there is just something so attrative about the FD.
It is on my dream car list along with 959, 512TR, 964T, 300SL gull-wing, 356 roadster, extigue, elise, miata, super7...
Only one of them are AWD and others are all RWD

I agree completely for the fun factor! For pure all out performance normally AWD is better but hanging the rear out is a blast. My new FWD Matrix is a fun car and amazing handler but sure not fun like my Miata I just sold, that was one killer car to drive, except almost to much tracking with TS-1's and limited slip!

I only put that in my sig to piss off Subi drivers that think a 400hp WRX will beat my 700hp+ GS300 twin turbo.

RAAMaudio You sold your miata for a Matrix? **WHY for God's Sake WHY** haha well seriously why? do you need to drive people around now? I have driven the 1st gen and the 2gen miata, I think both are awesome cars handles so very well (even with sh*t tires). The second gen a little roomier, a a little more power but it lacks the classic look. Well they both are great, I would really get one if I can afford all the cars I wanted  I am already having trouble keeping my FD. Well I still needs to find my winter car though.

trueno92 Thanks, the 300SL (gull-wing) is something, I remembered when I was in HS (I wasn't old enough to get a license yet) and this little kid's parent drove that to pick him up, well I only saw that once in my HS's parking, never again

but a JUN superlemon rated at under 700 hp would eat htat thing alive

Project T: rotary rocks. you gotta listen to one that screams all the way to redline, with no sound deadening.

went to mosport yesterday to meet up with mr.sinister and neil85ae86, saw a car that's home built, modelled after the Caterham Super 7 with a rotary in it.

goddamn does that thing fly.
