If I am running a turbo with an intercooler, is an FMU a necessity or just an extra, and what ratio should it be running at (10:1, 9:1, 8:1?) for a 5-sfe. Also, do I need new injectors or just the FMU?

i would reccommend one,

i think with the ratios you are talking fuel pressure riser?

8:1 is enough.

The only real way you can tell what ratio you need is to hook up the O2 on the dyno and read the ratio. It all depends on what your injectors flow, how much boost your running, and how much your pump flows. My friend runs 720 injectors with a 4:1 FUM on his D series honduh, while I run 8:1 FMU with stock injectors and a 255 pump. The recalibration kits are only like 30 bucks so don't worry about that, just make shure your not leaning out!

Depends on how you want to add fuel.

Couldn't really tell you.

Your best bet is to dyno it with a wideband 02 sensor and see what your A/F is at.

One option is to change the MAP sensor to one from a MR2 Turbo and use bigger injectors (360cc) from a MKIV Supra.

Another option is to fool the stock MAP sensor into not seeing boost by putting in a zenor diode (your gonna have to figure out what voltage to use) inline with the signal wire and run a FMU.

Either way your gonna have to do something about the MAP sensor.

I have a 4cyl gen 4, I know a lot of camrys have those metal MAP sensors right, but mine doesn't, so is it just one of those black lines going into my intake? What will happen if I don't replace the MAP sensor? Also, will I need new fuel lines for the FMU, and if so, where should I get them from? Thanx for the help btw.

Your thinking of the V6.

No. The MAP sensor is a little black plastic box mounted to the firewall with a vacumm hose and a plug on it. It has a sticker on it that says "pressure sensor" or something like that.

The other end of the vacumm hose is connected to the intake manifold (on the plenum).

Your ecu will trip out and fuel cut.

The stock MAP sensor is not calibrated to see boost.

Yes you do. You can use rubber hose but, make sure that you can use it for fuel lines.

On mine I used Earl's -6AN stainless steel braided lines and Earl's AN fittings.

Thanx 88, how did you deal with the MAP on your car when you put the turbo in? Also, could you just bleed off pressure before it got to the MAP?

I don't have a MAP sensor on my car. My car has a AFM (air flow meter).

I dunno.

My concern with bleeding off air is vacumm leaks.
