Crazy RPM's on 95 Cam
I have noticed this past yr that my cam when letting off the gas-the rpm needle drops SUPER fast down, hangs and comes back to where it should be. The engine doesn't seem to be having any probs, but i can feel the change somewhat...
other than that no complains...should I worry? is this normal?
PS-any OTHER questions or comments-feel free to PM me...THANKS!

Usually is at about 2000 (or sometimes a little lower), then drops to about 1000, but then jumps back to where engine is at. Idle is between 500-700.
My mechanic drove it to Boston, [30 mins from me] and he said it runs like a dream.
Just wanted another opinion I guess...

Sounds a little like a small fuel problem. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter and cleaned your injectors? What about spark plugs and wires? Idle speed sounds fine though. It is usually around 750.
Sparks and wires were just replaced. Maybe it is my fuel filter or needs the injectors cleaned. I did that um...about last October.

The sensor is running off the flywheel. And it isn't always perfect. Sometimes it will drop but that doesn't mean the engine is actually at that point. After so much use, gauges lose some of their accuracy.
Mechanic? I thought you were going to show up the guys by doing your own work?
