Quiet Dump Valve - why?

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum - just bought me a new 2! Yea!

However most of the 2's i tested had a really loud blow off, but the one I have actually bought doesn't - the car is driving well, no acceleration problems of any sort.

Its a Blitz dump valve used - is this common with Blitz or do i need a new DV or just tuning the existing DV??

Help please!!

K

depends on the model, does it re-route the air back into the intake? if it does, they are usually quiet.. but I prefer the more quiet ones myself. silent and deadly

I was fairly certain it wasn't a recirculating one as it has a big trumpet like thing on one end - but it might be!!

It should be quiet, why do you want a noisy one? quiet ones do what they are suposed to do, keep the turbo spinning during gearshifts. All that noise is for people with low self esteme.
