1984 Celica GT coupe mod is to fit a small block chevy V-8 into it with a 3-spd Turbo 400 tranny.

Unless you're planning major rear end mods to lay down serious traction, and are building a SERIOUS small block, you don't really need the TH400. A TH350 can handle quite a bit and uses less power to operate. In fact, a 700R4 might be cool, then you can have overdrive. What rear end are you going to use anyway? I can't see the Celi rear holding up to that.

The diffs on the 82-86 supras will take 400hp...really depends on how much power you want to run. Heck, may be the same pumpkin with different ratios...
