Your gunna have to custom make something.

On my buddies Camry I used the elbow that bolts on the turbo as a template to make a flange. You can also use the gasket (the one that goes in between turbo and elbow) as a template.

The flange was made out of 3/8" mild steel. I used a torch to cut it, cleaned it up with a grinder, then drilled the holes.

For the piping I used 2.5" mandrel bent piping.

You want to use stainless steel (321 SS) for the downpipe.

The MR2 manifold has an extra bolt hole.

It is a straight bolt on, except one of the bolt holes is not used.

The manifold bolts right onto a 3S or 5S.

If you use a turbo other then a CT26 you'll need to make a adapter.

Pic of my Garrett T3, custom made adapter, and 3S-GTE turbo manifold (from a 91 MR2 Turbo):

P.S. I don't have the turbo anymore, so don't ask about it.

Yes, I made the adapter.

Top and bottom flange is 3/8" mild steel and the walls are 1/4" mild steel. Tig welded together.

I also polished up the inside of the adapter with grinding stones. And the outside of it is painted with 1200 degree high temp paint.

Anyways what kind of welder are you looking at? Tig, mig, flux core, or stick?

I've been welding for about 4 - 5 yrs now (took welding in college), so I can help you pick something out.

i'm not looking for something expensive, just something so i can do my IC pipes, downpipe,... simple stuff. i'd rather put the money i'd pay someone to do it, and get myself a welder for my garage. the cheapest i can get by with, is what i want.

I suggest a mig welder. Its relatively easy to use (still requires proper technique and skill though) and it'll do what you want.

For a mig welder I suggest that you get one that has a gas hookup. You'll get cleaner welds and less splatter vs. flux core. IMO flux core sucks.

You can use C25 (75% argon, 25% co2 mix) or straight c02 as a shielding gas for mig welding. C25 will give you cleaner smoother welds with less splatter, but it costs more then c02.

Heres some companies that make welders:

http://www.millerwelds.com

http://www.lincolnelectric.com

http://www.hobartwelders.com

http://www.esab.com

Miller and Lincoln Electric would be on the top of my list. They make sweet welders.

However I've heard that the Hobart mig welders are made by Miller. I'm not sure if its true or not, but my friends neighboor bought one recently and I've played with it. It welds nice.

Anyways how much are you looking to spend?

A brand new mig welder is $500 - $600.

^ Try looking for something used, but your not gunna get much for $100 - $200.

By the way mig is the cheapest. All the other machines cost a lot more.

Some mig welders are $1000+, but their computerized.

The college I took welding at has a Lincoln Electric tig/stick machine thats about $7,000.
