Hello i have a 1987 toyota van with 150k miles on it. It runs great, but I'm having a small problem. My 'charge' lite comes on, I checked my alt. and its putting out 15v(just replaced it). If i shut the car off I can't start it again, when i turn the key nothing, I even trie to jump it but it still would not start when i turned the key (starter bad?) The only way to start the car is if you push start it, then when it starts the charge light comes on, but if you turn on the turn signle and hit the brakes, all the lights in the dash go out. (headlights stay on). a bad ground maybe?
I was off roading today, went through some deep water, but it seemed to be okay until our way down, that is when the problems started.
