Yes, you'd have a stroked 3S.
Crower and Pauter make rods that fit a 5S crank, so you don't have to machine the crank.
thanks for the info, i just wanted to know, because i already have the rods and pistons for a 3sgte, and i eather wanted to buy a turbo or make it a 2.2 this week end.

alot of the higher horsepower MR2 are running a 5s-fe blocks which are found in mr2's in Japan... And a few drag cars using a 3s-gte motors are using them...

did you have to do much to plumb for oil? Like are you using piston squirters? Where did you tap in for oil to the turbo? Just curious. I figure the drain back would be easy...
What other differences are there besides the 5S being a taller deck?

I did not plumb for oil squiters... I tapped the oil for the turbo at the head. The 5s-fe has bigger water and oil passages than the 3sgte. The bore is slightly bigger and the block can take a bigger sleeve...
